$25 SANTA CRUZ MOUNTAIN VINEYARD “River Road Vineyard” SANTA LUCIA HIGHLANDS, CALIFORNIA ‘16 o/s

-100% Pinot Noir made for earlier drinking and restaurant wine by-the-glass programs. Usually we make very big Pinot Noir for heartier foods and cellaring. But this one, though not light, is luscious, juicy, spicy and ready to enjoy right away for any occasion. It is made from fruit from the Santa Lucia Highands of Monterey County. Now you may be surprised to find an affordable Pinot Noir from this region that produces some of the most expensive Pinot Noir in the state.

$27 DOMAINE MICHEL JUILLOT BOURGOGNE, COTE D’OR, FRANCE ‘16

$27 HENRI PRUDHON BOURGOGNE “les chezeaux”, COTE D’OR, FRANCE ‘16

The vineyards for the simple Bourgogne are spread over several sectors of Nuits and Prémeaux, a large number of small sites that cover 2.8 hectares. As an “introductory” wine to the large array of appellations produced at this domaine, we could not ask for a finer example to set the stage for the grandeur to follow. This wine consistently reflects, in simple form, the classic characteristics of the wines from the area around Nuits Saint Georges: red and black fruits, bright but not too dense color, exquisite balance with lively acidity, somewhat austere at the outset but elegant and savory.

$30 SCHUG SONOMA COAST, CALIFORNIA ‘17

$35 SARAH'S VYD "muns vineyard" SANTA CRUZ, CALIFONIA '16

-Flowers, fruit, and herbs – The 2016 Sarah’s Vineyard Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir is a fragrant garden in a glass. Distinct notes of perfumed rose and violets accent the ripe cherry and berry aromas and flavors. Running seamlessly through the wine is a bright streak of balancing, cold climate acidity. A light touch of vanillin-oak and mid-weight tannins give structure and a long finish. Drinking well already.
